What it is all about . . .

In Kansas, mid-June means one thing --- HARVEST!!! In our house, the farmers (yes, I said farmers as Ryan has joined the true farmers, being in the field with them for 12 straight hours today). Well, for those of you that haven't ever lived on a farm or experienced harvest, here is a run down of "what it is all about . . ."

Wheat getting cut and going through the header (picture taken by Andrew)

Father and son making a great team

Newest tractor and grain cart driver

Meals in the field

Combine rides

Even Mom gets a combine ride (with Andrew)

Brothers working together

and getting along

Playing in the wheat in the semi-truck trailer

throwing the wheat while playing

Uncle and Cousins

John Deere of course (and a true statement)

So, even with the 2 "farmers" having birthdays in the month of June, you can see "what it is truly all about" . . . harvest. Early mornings, late late nights (they just walked in at midnight tonight), but family working together to complete the goal of getting all the wheat in and eating well in the process. We love the drive to get it done, but are also thankful when it is all over and our lives return to normal.
