Piano and Halloween

Every single one of our children have loved to sit at the piano and play it (at age 1 of course - not as excited about it when they are old enough to actually play). Today I caught Grant doing this also and had to capture it. Of course, Andrew had to get into the action and join him. The ABC's are sung by Andrew while Grant adds his own dramatic piano rendition at points.

Halloween re-enacted costumes from exactly 7 years ago --- when Ryan and Tyler were the 'cow' and 'joker'. This year, it was Andrew and Grant.





Tyler took over the football player and Ryan became a 'referee' half way through the evening, although I never got a picture.

FOOTBALL: Ryan's Hurricane football team is now 2-3, after winning the last two games. They've become pretty fun to watch. This last weekend they had team pictures. Of course, mom was there with her camera too trying to get some shots. He was also chosen to be one of the captains for the game and was very pumped about it (they rotate it around). He's number 58.

The Moundridge boys - (Ryan is in the right back) and no, he really is not that much shorter than the others. It must have just been the angle the picture was taken.

ONERY: I don't think anyone will be surprised to see who made the pictures for this heading. Here is his activity while mom is trying to get dinner on the table the other night. It was pretty cute!

NBA GAME: Since we don't get the opportunity very often, we took advantage of the NBA exhibition game coming to Wichita to Charles Koch Arena. We knew the older two boys would LOVE it - and they did. I will admit, I don't ever need to see another professional basketball game in person, I'd prefer college any day. It is one more thing I can check off my list of things I've done. We had a fun evening:)

Kansas City - again

Grandma Frankie and I traveled to Kansas City today for the
second part of Grant's foot surgery.

Playing in the waiting room before surgery because there was not a hospital room for him afterwards. We had to wait for a room before they could take us back. He was supposed to go back by 11:30 or so, and he went at 2:30. That totaled 14 1/2 hours without food --- not good for a child who is trying to GAIN weight. Ugh!

This was a short procedure (once they took him back) --- only about an hour. Everything went very well. They were able to take off his other cast, remove the pin from his toe, and then close the cleft in his foot. The doctor was very pleased with the result. Grant will be in a cast now for another 4 weeks.

We will be staying overnight in the hospital tonight and then be dismissed tomorrow from the hospital. Grandma Frankie will then drive back home, and Chris and Tyler will be heading up here after school. We'll be staying at Crown Center (very close to the hospital) in Kansas City Thursday night. Tyler will get his cast removed first thing Friday morning, and Grant has Cleft Palate Team meeting all morning. So, a couple active days, but at least accomplishing it all in one trip. Hopefully with Grant's team meeting we'll be able to get something scheduled for his palate surgery. They want him to be at least 18 pounds, unfortunately he weighed in this morning at 15.4 pounds and was 28 inches long. Not sure if we can get exceptions made or not, but will try. We'll keep you posted.
