I am enjoying a quiet morning after sleeping in and just sitting around relaxing. We are looking forward to Christmas and hopefully some snow:) I'm not seeing anything yet, but they are hopefully it may come today. We'll see. We are grateful for all our family being close and not having to travel for the holidays. Newton will be as far as we go (except Chris going to Wichita for work). Unfortunately, his work schedule has not turned out too well for this weekend which is supposed to be his holiday and weekend off. Oh well, we'll adjust.
Tonight we plan on continuing our tradition of going caroling at 11:00 pm to members of our church. We have a group from church of about 15 or so that usually go and we sing to bedroom windows. We have been doing this for YEARS and it is always a wonderful experience. We usually end around 1:00 am or so at a house that invites us in for hot chocolate and goodies. What a great way to bring in Christmas! Christmas morning we'll open gifts with the boys, then travel to share the holidays with the Goering family. On Saturday we'll celebrate with my family and then Sunday all the Huxman's will be at our house. We are looking forward to spending time with all our families that we are so blessed to be a part of.
On Monday we will once again be traveling to Kansas City for Grant to have his cleft palate surgery. We are glad to be able to have this completed over the holidays so I won't have to take vacation from school. Hopefully, this will be the last surgery for a while. We hope to be back home on Tuesday the 29th, as long as he is eating OK. Then we will prepare to have our young adult group from church over for New Years Eve.
We feel blessed this holiday season to be able to celebrate the birth of Jesus with friends and family. May you feel the presence of Christ this season and the miracle of his birth. Merry Christmas to all:)
