Looking back, I'm not quite sure where May went. It absolutely FLEW by! Here's a little breakdown of what May looked like at our house.
First of all, Spring means track and Ryan had his first experience with middle school track this season. He mainly threw shot put and discus, but filled in with the 400 m run in a couple meets also.
Halstead had a track meet for children pre-K-6th grade, so Andrew participated.
standing long jump (placing 3rd)
ball throw (placing 6th)
50 yard dash (placing 5th)
Tyler also participated in two track meets.
In Halstead ...
long jump
high jump (3rd place)
and the 4 x 100 m relay (1st place)
The All Schools Day Parade in McPherson is an event we look forward to each year. They have a wonderful parade, but the best part is it is on a Friday which always guarantees a Friday off in early May. The band marches each year and Ryan gets to play the sousaphone in the marching band. They probably march about a mile ... luckily this year the weather was beautiful!
May also means Mother's Day ... I continued the tradition of taking pictures of the boys. This seems to be the only time of the year I can get good pictures of all 4 of them. Here are my precious children that give me the wonderful title "Mother"!
May generally means .... graduations. Andrew graduated from Pre-school and will be entering Kindergarten next year. I can't believe how the time has flown.
Tyler had a 5th grade recognition night as he is done with the elementary school and moves to the middle school next year.
With some of his classmates waiting for the certificates to be handed out.
Showing off his certificate
